The paperbarks are in flower and the air is heavy with the sweetness of honey.

Melaleuca quinquenervia, or broad-leaved paperbark, grows in swamps, floodplains, and along rivers across coastal eastern Australia. They bloom in spring and after rain, lining the highway between the towns where I live. 

From the flowering groves of Melaleuca we are drawn in to an earthy palette of wetland flora— creamy blooms, bark scribbles, and the golden scent of spring rain.

Hand built. One off designs. You will receive one pictured or very similar. please refer to images to note the small variations.

Capacity: 12oz

Made using the Japanese technique of nerikomi using high quality Australian white and colour stained clays. After clay has been stained with different colours, individual patterns and blocks are created, sliced and laid out into a large slab. This is what each mug has been cut from. Key colours: lots of browns, green, cream with tiny dashes of grey blue & yellow. A little wabi-sabi. Finished with glossy clear glaze. 

Care has been taken to accurately depict the colours, however, screen to reality may result in small variations.
