Zyanya Earthwalker’s timeless pieces are functional objects forged from the land and stars reminding us of our cosmic roots. Hand made with high quality Australian clay, they serve as tactile earthly reminders of our deep connection to self, nature and the universe. Zyanya is interested in theories of our cosmic human origins and explores the self as a being suspended in an infinite loop between this realm and that realm through the nerikomi technique which has been central to her practice for the last 2 years. Zyanya uses a mix of white, earthy and colour stained clay to explore the spaces between balance and chaos, texture and space. Creating different glitchy patterns with various clay bodies and coloured stains. Some are small and tight, others stretch and morph into a marbled mess of the space time continuum. Zyanya places great emphasis on designing high quality, functional, ergonomic and aesthetically pleasing pieces that feel good in your hands and are beautiful to see in your home.
