Large Marbled Earth Bowl

At 5am I awoke needing to pee. Put my foot down into ankle deep water. Turned the lights on and saw the carpet swelling in these slow surreal circle shapes. The swirly clay I had been experimenting with the night before turned out to be some kind of premonition when I saw the way the silt left patterns after the water drained away. Life and art can never be separated. What other purpose is there in life but to create and use creativity to honour the miracle of this earth and of life.

A Large earthy bowl made out of two different stoneware clay bodies sliced, rolled and smooshed into a nerikomi marbled slab and formed into shape. Smooth-white and dark-groggy swirls suspended in time and holding each other together. Reminding me of letting go, coming together, opening, contracting. 

I make these all by hand and each piece bares the marks of their maker like birthmarks. The glaze on this one crazed in certain spots (which just means it has faint cracking only in the glaze) so it is being sold at seconds pricing. 

I infuse good intentions into your bowl and wish for you to find peace in your meal times as you create nourishing foods for your body and mind, while taking time to have gratitude for all of the hard work involved in preparing your sacred meals. These bowls are intended to remind you to slow down, be mindful of your body's needs and eat with intention.

Much love goes into the creation of this bowl. It is handmade with love from the Earth.
